Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Valia Gentsou wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technologies.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
Conformance status
Partially conformant. The website has been designed and built with WCAG 2.1 AA in mind. A full accessibility review is in progress, and this statement will be updated when it is complete. The known exceptions are listed below.
What we have done
- Every photograph has a text description (alternative text).
- All pages can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Text and important controls have sufficient colour contrast against the dark background.
- Pages use headings and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) so that they can be navigated with assistive technology.
- Greek texts are marked as Greek, so that screen readers pronounce them correctly.
- The image viewer (lightbox) can be operated with the keyboard; links are underlined and describe where they lead.
- Animations are reduced when your device is set to reduce motion.
- The layout is designed to work when zoomed up to 400% and on small screens.
Known limitations
- Images of printed reviews. On the pages Photographic Circle and Παραμύθια ανάποδα, some reviews are shown as photographs of printed pages. A summary is provided next to them; the full text will be added once it is available.
- External websites. Links to other websites (reviews, social media) lead to content that we do not control.

Technical information
This website relies on HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA and JavaScript. Testing with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari and with the NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers is part of the review in progress.
How we checked
Self-assessment by the website developer (infoLib), using automated testing tools and manual checks with keyboard, screen reader, zoom and contrast tools. The review is in progress.
